Giacomo Rizolatti - Mirror Neurons

Homology

Dr. Giacomo Rizzolatti discusses similarities between the human brain and the brain of a monkey to illustrate the compatibilities between the two. Specifically, the premotor cortex and parietal lobe. Both of these are similar in both humans and monkeys. He discusses research that supports these similarities, but cautions against attempting to draw useful information from other areas of the brain such as Broca’s area, citing that these other areas are not analogous between humans and monkeys.
