Gerd Gigerenzer - Decision Making

What is rationality?

There are different ways to define rationality. While most people associate rationality with probability theory and internal consistency of behavior, Dr. Gigerenzer emphasizes a different view of ecological rationality. In this view, rational behavior is behavior that shows superior or optimal performance within an uncertain world, not the formal consistency of behavior in small worlds with predictable outcomes.
