Change blindness is a research paradigm that has received a lot of attention over the last 15 years. One of the early creators of the method, In this interview, Dr. Ron Rensink from the University of British Columbia, talks about the theoretical significance of the inability to see gross changes to visual scences for theories of attention. In addition, he explains his concept of "mindsight" that describes the ability of a subset of participants in these studies to reliably identify the presence or absence of a change without being able to identify the nature of the change.
